Artist's Statement
As a child, I created any and everything in a variety of mediums. But my passion has always been wire. To me, wire is one of the most formless of all mediums. I use 28-gauge galvanized steel wire, among other types, to re-create form, by combining everyday shapes and guiding lines. As I create, I am constantly questioning and analyzing my work, wondering how can I do this better? The answers led me to the creation of "Lonnetrix," my own style of wire sculpture. Lonnetrix Fine Wire Art is a series of connections, bundles and wraps combined to create the design, beauty and strength that is Lonnetrix. With wire and my technique, I can re-create anything imaginable. My wish is to re-introduce that blank slate as a work of art.
