Artist's Statement

My goal in photography is to evoke emotion. Many of my subjects are banal or abstract in an effort to get the viewer to notice the mood of the picture rather than the sight of it. I tend to work in cool tones of gray, black, and blue because those colors can evoke vastly different emotions in different people. To me, they give a sense of calm, though others describe them as gloomy. I enjoy creating something that can be personal to everyone.
